Assemblage Art by Agricultural Plants

Cacao Husks and Papaya Tree
Publication of Discovery: March 31, 2026
Issue: March, 2026

A few times during agritourism outings, we have been surprised by plants and fruits resembling fine art works. To commemorate Mother Earth’s performance as an artist, we share photos that show art by nature in farms. Enjoy this article’s photo gallery! See multiple decomposed cacao husks with orange, yellowish, dark brown and reddish-brown colors—a prominent natural assemblage sculpture found at Jeanmarie Farm in the Municipality of Aguada, Puerto Rico. Observe a small papaya tree at Finca Neo Jibairo in the Municipality of Río Grande, Puerto Rico, and notice its star-like stems, leaves, flowers, and fruits naturally assembled, resembling a sculpted-like papaya tree.

Carefully look at plants and crops when visiting agricultural fields since Mother Earth may exhibit its art when least expected. Appreciate the display and be thankful.
