The Jobos Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve is located nearby the southern coastline of Puerto Rico. It comprises around 2,800 acre of land in the Municipalities of Salinas and Guayama, including islets nearby. The Jobos Bay is the second largest estuary in Puerto Rico.

People may hike particular trails in the nature reserve. Please contact the staff for information about these trails and status of guided tours' availability.

A beautiful photography exhibition is available in the Visitor's Center of Jobos Bay nature reserve.

The nature reserve's staff performs scientific investigations and implements recurrent educational programs targeted towards students and teachers.

You may read an ecotreasures magazine's article entitled "The Distinguishable Jobos Bay Natural Reserve" about a hiking and interpretive tour in this natural area, guided by Puerto Rico Natural & Environmental Resources Department's staff member.

Visitors may also engage in kayaking, snorkeling or stand-up paddleboard recreation while visiting this natural area. The nature reserve's staff does not rent water sports gear.

Monday-Friday: 8:00 am-11:30 am, 1:00 pm- 3:30 pm

Subject to prior reservation, guided hiking group tours may be scheduled to explore the Jobos Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve. Group tours: minimum 10 persons and maximum 30 persons. Walk-ins (1-9 persons) may hike on their own on the nature reserve's trails that are available.
